Kata Kellényi is a Hungarian-American Art Director based in Los Angeles, with over a decade of experience in international film, television, and commercial productions.

She spent the first half of her life in front of the camera and on stage, working within the frame rather than observing it. Those years shaped an instinctive understanding of presence, rhythm, and how visual space supports performance.

Moving behind the camera came naturally. What followed was not a career change but an expansion — translating lived experience into the design of spaces built for storytelling. As a set designer and art director, she creates environments with a performer’s awareness and a technician’s precision, always aware of the frame she is designing for.

For her, the relationship between camera and environment is intuitive and inseparable. Designing sets is not a technical task alone, but a way of shaping atmosphere, emotion, and narrative from the inside of the frame.
